6 months after the CTP of the Windows Phone Developer Tools, the final version is released today. Read about it here and download them here.
The development team have done a great job, and Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone is a great, easy to use product. Don't be put off by all the new terms, and the fact that the development environment is C# only at the moment - dive in and try some development.
The tools are FREE, and if you want to learn how to use them from the experts, sign up for our Windows Phone 7 Developer day on the 7th October at the Odeon, Printworks Manchester.
To coincide with the release, Resco have announced the beta of their first offering for Windows Phone 7 - Resco MobileLight Toolkit Beta. The initial release contains 3 controls
- Resco AdvancedList—sophisticated list control
- Resco DetailView—elegant user input forms
- Resco DateTimePicker—visually attractive date/time picker control
